Mid Century Modern Jewelry
Bold and bright mid century modern jewelry that's a little bit retro, a little bit flea market, and super couture.Expert Styling Tips that help you to dress down bold statement jewelry.
I often get asked: “How do you style a Mid Century Modern true statement piece?”
Mid century modern jewelry is heavy, bright, bold, and the vintage color palette is unique. It’s easy to believe that this jewelry can only be worn at a high-class event. In this video, I show you how to style mid-century-modern jewelry with a casual look.
I’m modeling one of my one-of-a-kind original necklaces. It features a gorgeous vintage broach with aurora borealis pink and avocado crystal held by four strands of lustrous 1950’s imitation pink pearl. To draw the eye up, I’m wearing glamorous geometric rhinestone clip-on earrings in a matching pink. My wrist statement is a mix-and-match of vintage Swarovski bangle bracelets and a modern fuchsia, silk cuff with gold hardware.
This jewelry could easily dress up a little black dress, but I’ve chosen to dress it down, and I love how this look comes together. I use a simple white tshirt with baggy boy friend jeans and a cashmere beanie for an effortlessly casual look. But I throw on a blush pink faux fur jacket to tie together the color palette and add in a sense of luxury that matches the jewelry while toning down the brightness. This look successfully pulls down the boldness and brightness of the vintage jewelry pieces so you can just toss it on and get a look that is a little bit retro, a little bit flea-market, but very, very couture.
